Our finance team wants to share formatted financial tables with stakeholders who don't have access to Fabric Plan. The docs mention 'Fully Formatted Exports to Excel & PDF'. How well does the Excel export preserve formatting?

The Excel export from Intelligence sheets is very high quality — it preserves column widths, row groupings, subtotal formatting, bold/colour for headers, and number formats. The exported file is static (not connected to Fabric Plan) but it looks like a professionally formatted report.

We use the PDF export for board packs (pixel-perfect, print-ready) and the Excel export for finance teams who want to do their own analysis on top of the data. Both are excellent.

One limitation: complex conditional formatting (RAG colour coding based on values) doesn't always translate perfectly to Excel. Simple formats (bold, borders, number format) translate cleanly. Test your most complex reports before committing to Excel as your delivery format.
