Hi all, I'm Omar, data engineering lead based in Dubai. My background is all Fabric pipelines, Lakehouses, and semantic models — I was brought into this project specifically to connect our OneLake data to Fabric Plan. Never thought I'd end up caring this much about FP&A. Keen to learn from people on the business side about how they actually use the tool.

Hi Omar! As someone on the finance side, the best thing you can do is understand our planning cycles — monthly close, quarterly reforecast, annual budget. The pain points usually live at the boundary between those cycles and the data model.
