I saw a video about commenting in your website. I need more understanding on filter context. I'm adding data-level comments on a matrix in an intelligence sheet, cell and row level mostly, on a P&L that gets sliced a lot during review. My question is what happens to a comment anchored to, say, a specific account row when someone collapses the hierarchy or applies a different filter set. Does the comment stay pinned to that data point and reappear when the filter selection comes back, or can it end up orphaned? Trying to understand how reliable this is before I let the finance team run their monthly review commentary through it.

There are two parts to the answer:
Firstly, the comment is generally tied to the specific datapoint (row*column cross-section if cell level or else to the particular row if row level) and on collapse of the hierarchy, you can choose to still see the comment at the Parent level by choosing the option Roll-up indicator under the Comments Settings. This provides an indicator that there are comments on a child while viewing at the Parent Level.
For the next part of the answer, regarding the comments being filter sensitive, you can achieve this by turning the Filter Context to On from the Matrix tab. Having this turned on, ensures the comments are tied to the specific filter selections and change as per the filter selections.
That roll-up indicator is exactly what I was missing, thanks. Makes sense to keep the parent flagged rather than lose the comment on collapse. The filter context toggle is the more interesting one for us since the P&L gets sliced heavily in review, so I'll turn that on and see how it behaves when reviewers move between filter states mid-session.
