Sankey chart

Sankey diagrams use weighted paths to show the magnitude of flow between stages. Use them to understand contributions, transitions, and losses across a system. The nodes represent the categories, the flows depict the connections between categories, and the width of the flows shows the quantity.

Sankey charts are a great way to visualize cash flows, resource allocation, or revenue distribution between various dimension categories

Configure a sankey chart#

Follow the steps outlined to plot a sankey chart:

  1. Select the Charts 100+ visual.
  2. Chart type: Select Horizontal Sankey or Vertical Sankey from the Special Charts section.
  3. Category: Assign dimensions such as Region, Gender, Age group, and Mode to plot on the vertical axes.
  4. Actual(s): Add a measure to analyze, such as Total Orders.
